"A performance using painted tea chests as props, clever
lighting and superb sound effects, kept a packed Cawley
Hall laughing and enthralled to a dramatic end. With just
three skilled actors and many hats, cloaks and a rapid
change of character and accent, we were transported from
foggy, Victorian London to the depths of the countryside,
in search of the Speckled Band. Gripping stuff? Most
certainly." Arts Alive"

The fire
crackles in the grate, the lamps burn low, the fog is a
real pea souper and the game is always afoot!

In this unique
production, Cotton Grass Theatre brings to life the most
famous man who never lived – Sherlock Holmes – through
the intriguing stories of this fascinating sleuth.

Written by
Justin Web, Sherlock Holmes and the Final Problem
explores the complex and creative minds of both his
creator, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the real life deductive
genius on whom he was based - Dr. Joseph Bell.
Aspects of both
men abound in Holme's complex character.
"It is
difficult for a man to have any object in every day use
without leaving his individuality upon it" Sherlock
Holmes

Holmes ‘lived’
in the pages of Strand Magazine and became a cult figure
revered through out the world.

Conan Doyle finally
‘killed’ him, at the hands of his arch nemesis Professor
Moriarty. At the news of this,
riotous mobs stormed their offices refusing to
accept the end to their beloved hero.
Holmes had
become immortal!

"He is always there; a
figure in the corner of my eye blowing smoke at me through
gritted teeth..... I created him and yet he is out of my
control"
